India Raises Minimum Export Price for Onions to $475/Metric Ton, Unifying All Varieties Under One Rate
The Government of India has amended the minimum export price (MEP) for onions, effective immediately. The MEP for all onion varieties, including Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions, is now set at US$ 475 per Metric Ton F.O.B. Previously, the MEP was US$ 300 per Metric Ton for general onions and US$ 400 per Metric Ton for Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions. This change updates the prices outlined in earlier notifications from August 2011, aligning all varieties under a single export price.
