<h1>India Extends Customs Duty Exemption on Sugar to December 1, 2011, via Notification No. 84/2011-Customs.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 84/2011-Customs, amending the earlier Notification No. 21/2002-Customs. This amendment extends the terminal date for the basic customs duty exemption on raw sugar and white/refined sugar from September 1, 2011, to December 1, 2011. This change is made under the authority granted by the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendment is officially recorded in the Gazette of India.
