of <h1>India Revises Customs Duty Rates: 10% on Specified Goods, Effective July 19, 2011, per Notification 63/2011-Customs.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 63/2011-Customs, amending Notification No. 21/2002-Customs. This amendment, effective from July 19, 2011, changes the exemption and effective rate of basic and additional duty for specified goods under Chapter 1 to 99 of the Customs Tariff. Specifically, the entry in column (4) against S. No. 585 in the notification table is revised to '10%.' This action is taken under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and is intended to serve the public interest.
