of <h1>Customs Duties Reduced on Petrol, Diesel, and LPG Effective August 18, 2004, Under Section 25 of Customs Act 1962</h1> The Central Government has amended the customs notification No. 21/2002-Customs to reduce duties on petrol, diesel, and LPG, effective from August 18, 2004. The duty on motor spirit (petrol) and high-speed diesel (HSD) is set at 15%, while the duty on liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) is reduced to 5%. This amendment is made under the powers conferred by section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, in the interest of the public. The changes are detailed in notification No. 82/2004-Customs, modifying the previous duty rates listed under specific serial numbers in the original notification.
