Initially notified in 2006, the project 'Building a general corpus fund for Helpage India's work' was recognized as eligible for tax deductions. The project was extended in 2009, and the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare has recommended increasing the project's corpus fund from Rs. 20 crore to Rs. 30 crore. This amendment allows for a higher deduction limit under the specified section of the Income-tax Act.
