of <h1>Government Amends Customs Notification to Remove Specific Tariff Items from Education Cess Exemption List</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 69/2004-Customs, originally issued on July 9, 2004, to omit certain tariff items from the exemption of the Levy of Education Cess. Specifically, the figures '8802 20 00, 8802 30 00, 8802 40 00' are removed from the exemption list. This amendment, enacted under the powers of the Customs Act, 1962, and the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2004, is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification was last amended by Notification No. 138/2009-Customs on December 11, 2009.
