India Eases Export Restrictions on Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram Onions with License and MEP Requirement
The Government of India has amended its export policy to move Bangalore Rose onions and Krishnapuram onions from the 'Prohibited' to the 'Restricted' category. This change allows these specific onion varieties to be exported under a license, subject to a Minimum Export Price (MEP) of US$ 1400 per Metric Ton. Other onion varieties remain prohibited from export, except as specified. This amendment modifies the previous notification dated 22.12.2010, ensuring that the export of these two onion types is now regulated rather than banned outright.
