of <h1>Central Government Extends Customs Exemption Under DEPB Scheme to June 30, 2011, Per Section 25(1) of Customs Act.</h1> Notification No. 124/2010, issued by the Central Government on December 15, 2010, amends Notification No. 97/2009-Customs to extend the exemption for goods imported under the DEPB scheme. The exemption, initially set to expire on December 31, 2010, is now extended to June 30, 2011. This amendment is made under the authority of Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The original notification was published on September 11, 2009, and had been previously amended in September 2010.
