<h1>India Amends Basmati Rice Export Rules: Grain Must Exceed 6.61mm Length, Ratio Over 3.5</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued an amendment to previous notifications regarding the export of Basmati rice, including PUSA Basmati 1121. Effective immediately, the amendment specifies that the grain of rice to be exported must exceed 6.61 mm in length, with a length-to-breadth ratio greater than 3.5. This change is made under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest. The notification was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
