of <h1>India Allows Residents to Trade Currency Futures, Options for Hedging Under Amended Foreign Exchange Regulations 2010</h1> The Foreign Exchange Management (Foreign Exchange Derivative Contracts) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010, issued by the Ministry of Finance, amends the 2000 regulations under the Foreign Exchange Management Act. The amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, allows residents in India to engage in currency futures or options on recognized stock exchanges. This is permitted for hedging risk exposure or other purposes, in accordance with terms and conditions specified by the Reserve Bank of India.
