<h1>Cancer Institute Chennai Project Gets 3-Year Extension Under Section 35AC to Aid Poor Cancer Patients</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of a project by the Cancer Institute (WIA) Trust in Chennai, Tamilnadu, under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This project, which provides free food and anti-cancer drugs to poor cancer patients in the general wards of the institute, has been recognized as an eligible scheme for an additional three years, covering the financial years 2010-11, 2011-12, and 2012-13. The approved cost remains at Rs. 9.40 crore as a corpus fund. The project had previously been extended multiple times since its inception in 1999.
