of <h1>India Extends Rail Transport Service Tax Exemption to January 2011, Amending Notification No. 09/2010-Service Tax</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 35/2010-Service Tax, amending the previous Notification No. 09/2010-Service Tax dated February 27, 2010. This amendment extends the exemption for the transport of goods by rail service from July 1, 2009, to January 1, 2011. This decision, made under the powers conferred by the Finance Act, 1994, is deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendment changes the original date in Para 3 of the notification from 'July, 2010' to 'January, 2011'.
