<h1>Customs Duty Exemption Expanded to Include Bicycle Parts, Life-Saving Drugs, and More Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Customs Act, 1962, has amended Notification No. 9/1995-Customs, dated March 6, 1995, to include additional goods for customs duty exemption. The newly exempted items are bicycle parts, life-saving drugs, fertilizers, insecticides, cotton fabrics, stainless steel utensils, menthol, agarbatti, spices, cosmetics, leather footwear, paints and varnishes, sugar, salt, mosquito coils, electric bulbs, razor blades, X-ray paper, photo paper, and imitation jewelry. This amendment, effective from May 12, 2010, is deemed necessary in the public interest.
