India Amends Export Policy: Organic Non-Basmati Rice Exemption Allows 10,000 Metric Tons Annually with APEDA Certification
The Government of India has amended its export policy to permit the export of organic non-basmati rice, despite an existing ban on non-basmati rice exports. This exemption allows for the export of up to 10,000 metric tons annually, provided the rice is certified by APEDA and contracts are registered with APEDA, New Delhi, before shipment. Exports must occur through Customs EDI Ports. The export quantity will be monitored monthly by the Customs Department and DGCI&S, with reports sent to relevant government departments. All other provisions of the previous notification remain unchanged.
