of <h1>Central Government amends Special Economic Zones Rules; changes effective date to October 15, 2003, under Customs Act section 156.</h1> The Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2003, have been modified by the Central Government under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment changes the effective date of the notification from 15th August 2003 to 15th October 2003. This change is formalized in Notification No. 64/2003 - Customs (N.T.) and will take effect upon publication in the Official Gazette. The amendment is authorized by the powers granted under section 156 of the Customs Act, 1962, and is documented by the Under Secretary to the Government of India.
