of <h1>DGFT Amends Export & Import Policy 1997-2002, Allowing Relaxations for Hardship; Involves Licensing and Policy Committees.</h1> Notification No. 18/1997, dated September 26, 1997, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), amends the Export & Import Policy 1997-2002 under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. The amendment allows for policy or procedural relaxations if strict adherence causes genuine hardship or adversely impacts trade. Such requests are subject to the DGFT's discretion and may involve consultations with the Advance Licensing Committee for Chapter 7 provisions or the Policy Relaxation Committee for other provisions.
