of <h1>India Unveils Export-Import Policy 1997-2002 Under Section 5 of Foreign Trade Act, Effective April 1, 1997.</h1> The Central Government has announced the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002 under the authority of section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. This policy, detailed in the annexure to the notification, will be effective from April 1, 1997. The notification has been issued in the public interest and is signed by the Director General of Foreign Trade, who also serves as the Ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
