<h1>India Amends Foreign Trade Policy: Rice Export Allowed with Minimum Export Price of $900/Ton; Basmati Commission Capped at 12.5%</h1> The Government of India has issued an amendment to the Foreign Trade Policy regarding the export of rice, effective immediately. The amendment specifies that the export of rice is permitted only if the Minimum Export Price (MEP) is set at US $900 per ton or Rs. 41,400 per ton FOB. Additionally, for Basmati rice exports, a foreign commission up to 12.5% is allowed in the MEP calculation, and any discount or commission exceeding this percentage is not permitted. This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
