The SEZ, proposed by a corporation, has met all legal requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and was granted approval on February 26, 2009. The notification includes the designation of the area as an SEZ, detailing specific land parcels, and establishes an Approval Committee comprising various government officials and representatives. The SEZ is recognized as an Inland Container Depot/Port effective August 26, 2009.
