of <h1>New Notification Sets 6% Interest Rate Under Section 11BB of Central Excise Act, Superseding Previous Rate</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under section 11BB of the Central Excise Act, 1944, has issued Notification No. 67/2003-CE(N.T.) dated September 12, 2003, which supersedes the previous Notification No. 17/2002-CE(NT) dated May 13, 2002. This new notification sets the rate of interest at six percent per annum for matters related to the specified section of the Central Excise Act. This change is effective immediately, except for actions already completed or omitted under the previous notification.
