of <h1>India Cuts Customs Duty on Set-Top Box Parts to 5% Under Section 25 of Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 95/2003-Customs, amending the previous notification No. 21/2002-Customs, to reduce customs duty on certain parts used in the manufacture of set-top boxes. Specifically, the duty on tuners, RF modulators, and remote control units is reduced to 5% with no additional duty. This amendment is made under the powers granted by section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, in the interest of public welfare. The changes are effective from June 24, 2003, as part of ongoing revisions to the customs tariff regulations.
