of <h1>Central Government Issues New Exchange Rates for Foreign Currencies Under Customs Act Section 14, Effective March 1, 2002</h1> Notification No. 9/2002-Customs (N.T.) issued by the Central Government prescribes the exchange rates for foreign currencies in relation to the Indian Rupee, effective from March 1, 2002. This is relevant for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for purposes under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962, concerning imported goods. The exchange rates for various currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and Japanese Yen, are specified in two schedules. This notification supersedes a previous notification dated January 28, 2002.
