of <h1>India Cuts Customs Duty to Zero on Set-Top Boxes and Printing Machines, Effective August 2003, Under Customs Act.</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 86/2003-Customs, dated May 28, 2003, under the Customs Act, 1962, to amend a previous notification (No. 21/2002-Customs) from March 1, 2002. This amendment introduces a reduction in customs duty on set-top boxes, classified under serial No. 316A, from 5% to nil, effective from August 1, 2003. Additionally, high-speed cold-set web offset rotary printing machines are also included under serial No. 267A with a similar duty reduction. The notification aims to serve the public interest by facilitating these amendments.
