of <h1>Amendment to Notification No. 20/99-Cus: Customs Exemptions for Mega Power Projects Expanded with New Entry 288A</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 20/99-Cus regarding customs exemptions for setting up Mega Power Projects. The amendment introduces a new entry, 288A, exempting goods for inter-state thermal power plants of 1500 MW or more and hydel power plants of 500 MW or more, subject to certification by a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power. Conditions include regulatory compliance by power-purchasing states and certification of imports by relevant authorities.
