of <h1>Amended Customs Notification: Import Limit for Samples and Prototypes Set at Rs. 60,000; Specific Items Capped at Rs. 5,000</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 154/94-Customs, dated July 13, 1994, concerning the import of samples, price lists, commercial samples, or prototypes as baggage. The amendment specifies that the import value of these goods should not exceed Rs. 60,000 or 15 units within a twelve-month period. Additionally, for certain samples or prototypes, the value must not exceed Rs. 5,000, excluding postal charges or air-freight. These changes are made under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, to serve the public interest.
