of <h1>Central Government Amends Customs Act Notification to Exempt Spelt and Meslin from Duties, Effective December 1, 1999.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a prior notification to exempt Spelt and Meslin from customs duties. This amendment, effective from December 1, 1999, adds entries for Spelt and Meslin under serial numbers 8A and 8B in the notification issued on February 28, 1999. Both goods, classified under Chapter 10.01, are now subject to a NIL standard rate, with no additional rate or conditions specified. This exemption is deemed necessary in the public interest.
