<h1>New Customs Notification Updates Exchange Rates for Imported Goods Effective June 1, 2001 Under Customs Act, 1962.</h1> Notification No. 24/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated May 28, 2001, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 17/2001-Cus. (N.T.) regarding exchange rates for imported goods. Under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and the Customs Act, 1962, it prescribes exchange rates for foreign currencies into Indian Rupees effective from June 1, 2001. Schedule I lists exchange rates for one unit of various foreign currencies, including the US Dollar at 47.20 INR and the Euro at 40.55 INR. Schedule II provides rates for 100 units of certain currencies like the Japanese Yen at 39.35 INR.
