of <h1>Customs Notification Amended to Exempt Capital Equipment for Aircraft and Helicopter Blade Manufacturing Facilities</h1> The Central Government has amended the Customs notification No. 39/96-Customs to include an exemption for capital equipment necessary for establishing facilities to manufacture compressor and turbine blades for AN-32 transport aircraft and Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters. This exemption applies if the equipment is imported by a specified company. This amendment, effective from 6th January 2003, is issued under the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest. The notification was initially published in 1996 and has been amended multiple times, with the latest prior amendment occurring on 3rd January 2003.
