<h1>New Exchange Rates for Foreign Currencies Set for Imported Goods Under Customs Act Section 14, Effective November 1, 2000.</h1> Notification No. 65/2000-Cus. (N.T.), dated 25-10-2000, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 57/2000-Cus. (N.T.) to establish new exchange rates for foreign currencies related to imported goods. Effective from November 1, 2000, these rates are used for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for purposes under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. The notification lists specific exchange rates for various currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling, among others, converting them into Indian Rupees as detailed in Schedules I and II.
