<h1>Amendment to Customs Act: SEZ Units Can Clear Goods to Domestic Area with Conditions on Duty and Earnings</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 137/2000-Customs under the Customs Act, 1962, concerning the clearance of goods from Special Economic Zones (SEZ) to the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA). The amendment allows SEZ units engaged in trading to clear goods into the DTA upon payment of applicable duties, provided they achieve cumulative Net Foreign Exchange Earnings. No duty will be levied on goods cleared against an Advance License or special duty-free entitlement under the Export and Import Policy or to other SEZs, Export Oriented Undertakings, Export Processing Zones, or Technology Park units.
