of <h1>New Customs Exemption for SAMYUKTA Programme: Import Machinery for Defense with Certifications Until April 2003</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 39/96-Customs, dated July 23, 1996, under the Customs Act, 1962, to include a new entry for serial No. 17 in the exemption list. This entry pertains to the import of machinery, equipment, and related items for the SAMYUKTA Programme of the Ministry of Defence. Imports must be conducted by designated entities and certified by relevant authorities to ensure the items are necessary for the programme and not manufactured in India. This exemption is valid until April 1, 2003.
