of <h1>Customs Tariff Update: New Duty Rates for Umbrella Parts, Exemption for Rough Diamonds, and Revised Entry for S.No. 189</h1> The Central Government has amended Customs Tariff Notification No. 21/2002, dated March 1, 2002, through Notification No. 37/2002-Customs, effective April 11, 2002. The amendments include the insertion of new serial numbers and entries in the tariff schedule, specifically for umbrella cloth panels and parts used in umbrella manufacturing, with respective duty rates of 15% and 5%. Additionally, rough diamonds are now exempt from customs duty. The entry for S.No. 189 has been updated to 'Rs.550/- per 10 grams.' These changes are made under the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
