This decision follows findings that Caustic Soda was being exported to India at prices below its normal value, causing financial harm to the domestic industry. The duty, effective until September 26, 2002, is set at $48.5 per metric tonne for Qatar Vinyl Company Ltd. and $58.6 for other exporters. The duty is payable in Indian currency, with the exchange rate determined by the Ministry of Finance's notifications.
