of <h1>Customs Act Amendment: Import Limit Increased from 350,000 to 400,000 Metric Tonnes for S.No.19, Effective Jan 28, 2002.</h1> The Central Government has amended notification No. 17/2001-Customs, dated March 1, 2001, under the powers granted by section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment, effective from January 28, 2002, changes the quantity specified in the Table against S.No.19 from 'three lakhs and fifty thousand metric tonnes' to 'four lakh metric tonnes.' This modification is deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendment was issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and documented under Notification No. 11/2002-Customs.
