of <h1>Customs Duty on Gold and Silver Increased: Revised Rates per Customs Act 1962 Notifications</h1> The Central Government has amended various customs notifications concerning the duty on gold and silver under the Customs Act, 1962. Notification No. 172/1994 now requires a duty rate of Rs. 1000 per kilogram instead of Rs. 500. Notification No. 31/2003 has been updated to impose a duty of Rs. 200 per 10 grams for one category and Rs. 500 per 10 grams for another. Similarly, Notification No. 62/2004 has been revised to Rs. 200 and Rs. 500 per 10 grams for different categories, and Rs. 1000 per kilogram for another.
