of <h1>India Amends Customs Notifications: Full Duty Exemption Specified, Duty Rate Reduced from 65% to 50% Under Customs Act 1962.</h1> The Government of India, through Notification No. 69/2009-Customs dated June 19, 2009, amends two previous notifications, Nos. 74/2005-Customs and 75/2005-Customs, both dated July 22, 2005. For Notification No. 74/2005, the amendment replaces the phrase regarding customs duty exemption, specifying exemption from the entire duty as per the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act. For Notification No. 75/2005, the amendment changes the customs duty exemption rate from 65% to 50%. These amendments are made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962.
