<h1>Government company name-removal filings: Rule 4(3) standardises who signs STK-3A indemnity bonds for nominated directors</h1> Rule 4(3) of the Companies (Removal of Names of Companies from the Register of Companies) Rules, 2016 is amended to prescribe who may execute the indemnity bond in Form STK-3A for Government companies (other than the category already covered by the existing proviso), including their subsidiaries, in relation to one or more directors appointed or nominated by the Central Government or a State Government. The indemnity bond must be furnished on behalf of the company by an authorised representative of the relevant administrative Ministry/Department of the Government of India or the State Government, not below the rank of Under Secretary or equivalent, thereby standardising the competent signatory for such STK-3A filings.
