of <h1>New Central GST rates effective 22 September 2025: 0.125%-20% across categories, including 0.75%, 1.5%, 2.5%, 9%, 14% and 20%.</h1> Notification sets revised Central GST rates effective 22 September 2025, superseding the 2017 rate notification and prescribing intra-State CGST rates by appended schedules: 2.5% (wide range of food, agricultural and basic consumer goods), 9% (selected chemicals, fertilizers, certain manufactured goods), 20% (motor vehicles, carbonated and sweetened beverages, luxury goods), 1.5% (precious metals and jewellery), 0.125% (rough/unspecified diamonds), 0.75% (other precious/semi-precious stones) and 14% (tobacco, pan masala and related products). The rates are notified under CGST Act powers and apply to specified tariff items.
