of <h1>Private company gets approval to develop 11.549 hectare Special Economic Zone for electronic components manufacturing under SEZ Act 2005</h1> The Central Government notified establishment of a Special Economic Zone covering 11.549 hectares at a village in Dharwad district, Karnataka for manufacturing electronic components. A private limited company received approval on June 16, 2025 under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 for development, operation and maintenance. The government constituted an Approval Committee with eight members including Development Commissioner as Chairperson, representatives from Commerce Ministry, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, Banking Division, State Government nominees, and the developer. The zone is designated as an Inland Container Depot under Customs Act, 1962 effective June 23, 2025.
