of <h1>Uttar Pradesh officers can now become GST Tribunal Technical Members with 25 years as a Gazette Officer. Valid for 10 years.</h1> The notification concerns the eligibility criteria for officers from Uttar Pradesh for appointment as Technical Members (State) in the State Benches of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal. The Governor, following recommendations from the Council, has relaxed the qualification requirements under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Instead of requiring twenty-five years of service in Group A or equivalent, officers now need at least twenty-five years of service as a Gazette Officer in the government. This relaxation is valid for ten years from the notification's publication date. All other conditions under the Act remain applicable.
