of <h1>Customs Tariff Act Update: Basic Duty Rate for X-ray Tubes Increased to 15% Effective April 1, 2024.</h1> The Central Government has amended Chapter 90 of the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, increasing the basic rate of duty for tariff items 90223000 (X-ray tubes) and 90229090 (Other) to 15%. This change is made under the powers granted by section 8A of the Customs Tariff Act, in response to circumstances necessitating immediate action. The amendment is specified in Notification No. 15/2024-Customs, dated March 12, 2024, and will take effect on April 1, 2024.
