New Export Rules: Cough Syrup Needs Certificate of Analysis from Approved Labs Starting June 1, 2023.
The export policy for cough syrup under ITC (HS) Code 3004 has been amended, effective June 1, 2023. The revised policy requires that cough syrup exports be accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (CoA). This certificate must be issued after testing the export sample at specified laboratories, including Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, CDL, CDTL, RDTL, or any NABL accredited State Drugs Testing Laboratory. This amendment is enacted under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as outlined by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
