of <h1>Finance Ministry exempts duties on petrol, diesel, and ATF for exports; rescinded by Notification 31/2024.</h1> The Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 08/2022-Central Excise, effective July 1, 2022, exempting certain duties on petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) when cleared for export or supplied as fuel to foreign-going aircraft. The exemptions apply to the Basic Excise Duty and the Agricultural Infrastructure Development Cess for petrol and diesel, and only the Basic Excise Duty for ATF. This measure, enacted under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and Finance Acts of 2018 and 2021, aims to serve the public interest. The notification was later rescinded by Notification No. 31/2024-Central Excise on December 3, 2024.
