The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Community Health and Supplementary Education Project, run by a trust in Gujarat, under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially specified in 1997 for three years, the project, located in Panchmahal and Vadodara, has been recommended for an additional three-year period starting from the assessment year 2001-2002. This decision follows the National Committee's satisfaction with the project's execution. The project involves an estimated cost of 28 lakh rupees plus a corpus fund of 15 lakh rupees.
