Exemption for Adivasi Girls' Education and Development Project Extended Under Section 35AC of Income-tax Act

The Central Government has extended the exemption under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961, for a project by an educational and community development institution in Bombay. The project involves constructing a school and hostel for adivasi girls, establishing community development centers to impart self-employment skills to adivasi women, and providing medical relief in Dang district, Gujarat. Initially approved for three years starting in the assessment year 1995-96, the project was extended for another three years in 1998-1999 and is now further extended for three years beginning with the assessment year 2001-2002, with an estimated cost of INR 1.78 crore.
