India Lifts Ban on Ventilator Exports; All Breathing Appliances Now Free to Export Under Revised Policy.
The Government of India has amended the export policy for ventilators, effective immediately. Under the revised policy, all ventilators, including artificial respiratory apparatus, oxygen therapy apparatus, and other breathing appliances, are now classified as 'free' for export. This change modifies the previous Notification No. 53 dated 24.03.2020, which had prohibited the export of these items. The amendment is enacted under the powers granted by the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and aligns with the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20.
