of <h1>India Revises Excise Duty Rates: Notification 5/2020-Central Excise Amends 2019 Rates for Key Items Effective May 6, 2020.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 5/2020-Central Excise to amend Notification No. 05/2019-Central Excise dated 6th July 2019. The amendment involves changes in the excise duty rates listed in the original notification. Specifically, the duty rate for the item at Sl. No. 1 has been revised to Rs. 12 per litre, and for the item at Sl. No. 2, it has been revised to Rs. 9 per litre. These amendments are set to take effect from 6th May 2020.
