of <h1>Amendment to Money-laundering Rules: Clause (iiia) Added, Extends Small Account Operations from April 1 to June 30, 2020.</h1> The Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Amendment Rules, 2020, issued by the Ministry of Finance, amends the 2005 rules under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002. Effective from its publication date, the amendment introduces clause (iiia) to sub-rule (5) of rule 9, allowing small accounts to remain operational from April 1, 2020, to June 30, 2020, and during other periods as notified by the Central Government. This amendment was officially documented in the Gazette of India, with the previous amendment dated November 13, 2019.
