IBBI Amends 2017 Regulations: 10-Day Notice Required for Board Meetings, Chairperson Can Waive for Urgency.
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has issued an amendment to the Procedure for Governing Board Meetings Regulations, 2017. Effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, the amendment modifies regulation 5, sub-regulation (1), stipulating that a minimum of ten days' notice is generally required for Governing Board meetings. This notice, along with the meeting agenda, must be sent to each member's usual address in India or via email. However, the Chairperson may waive the ten-day notice requirement if an urgent meeting is necessary. This marks the first amendment to the 2017 regulations.
