The previous committee's term expired on January 1, 2001. Effective May 21, 2001, new appointments were made for a three-year term. The appointed members include a former Chief Justice, a Supreme Court advocate, a professor, a retired chairman of the CBDT, a doctor, a chartered accountant, and other distinguished professionals from various fields.
